Thankful Thursday

Hi!
So here I am joining in with the Thankful Thursday posts, I love reading Lisette's posts and figured that Thankful Thursday was something I could get on board with every now and then. I doubt I will be making it a weekly feature but I thought it would be something nice to do every now and then. To be honest I decided to join in with this last week, as I've mentioned before I finished university in June and since moving back home I've been applying for lots of jobs both relevant to my degree and then any kind of job in the hopes of getting something soon. Last week I received a rejection email for a job I really expected to get an interview for and it was a real kick, after feeling sorry for myself for an hour I realised that although I felt pretty crap about the whole thing it wasn't the end of the world and I still have happy things in my life that I should remember. So that's why I decided to do this!

 Woodland walks with Josh

This week I am thankful for...

Walks in the sunshine with a bit of blackberry picking thrown in
Pink sunsets
Date night with Josh that included lots of Indian food
Big sloppy kisses from my niece
Rediscovering my DS, hello Mario Kart and Brain Training!
 Episodes of Friends
A good haircut

A sunny walk on the first day of Autumn

Hi!
Last Sunday was the first day of Autumn which pretty much means I can start Christmas shopping now right?! Admittedly though it didn't feel much like Autumn, after the cool weather we've been having the first day of Autumn was actually pretty warm so Josh and I decided to go for a little woodland walk and enjoy the warm sunshine. I even managed to pick some blackberries although I could only take a handful home as I didn't have anything to put more in, they were very nice though. On the way home we spotted some horses in a field so went over to see them, the one in the photo was huge but very friendly and enjoyed having a good stroke on his nose for a few minutes!

As much as a enjoyed a nice morning out in the sun can we please have some colder weather and crunchy red leaves on the ground now?!

BEAUTY: John Frieda Full Repair

Hi!
I was recently sent a few John Frieda items to review, all from the Full Repair range. I've tried the mask and serum from this range before and really liked them so it was nice to get the chance to try out some other stuff too. I quite like John Frieda products and I've been subscribed to the YouTube channel for a while now.

Shampoo and Conditioner

I was sent the hydrate and rescue formula for the shampoo and conditioner and I'm really pleased with it. It promises to nourish hair with lightweight moisture to restore softness and shine. I've recently started using shampoo's and conditioner's for dry hair as I've found that now my hair has got quite long it needs a little extra care to prevent damaged hair so these two products have been a welcome addition to my hair care routine. They both have a nice clean smell that lingers on the hair for a little while which I really like. They leave my hair soft and shiny but still with a nice bounce which is essential for me as I hate products that leave my hair feeling weighed down. Another big plus for me is that my hair remains really clean between washes, as I don't wash my hair everyday it's nice to be able to use a little less dry shampoo inbetween washes!

Repairing Oil Elixir

Again this came at a really good time for me as it's something extra to add a little moisture into my hair. I try to avoid using heat on my hair but now the weather is getting cooler I get too cold sat around with wet hair so I've gone back to blow drying it. It's nice to know that I'm using a product that will help protect my hair from heat damage though. I find the oil leaves my hair really smooth and the ends of my hair a little bit softer than usual which again is good for damaged hair.

Overall I really like the Full Repair products, with the oil been the real gem of the bunch. I'd definitely go out and buy all of these products again though.

BEAUTY: The best beauty products under £10

Hi!
A few weeks ago I wrote this post on my favourite beauty products under £5. So today I'm going to be writing about my favourite beauty products under £10 (but over £5!).

No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser £9.95 - I actually buy this with the £5 vouchers you get which only makes it £4.95 but seen as its proper price is £9.95 I thought I'd put it on this post. It's a really good cleanser that leaves my skin lovely and soft. You can read my review for it here.

Garnier BB Cream for combination to oily skin £9.99 - I love this stuff sooo much. It's rare a where makeup but when I do this is the only base I use. It gives good coverage but looks natural and dewy. I can't praise it enough!

Palmer's Gradual Tan £5.35 - On the rare occasions I do tan in the warmer months this is my favourite thing to use. It build up quick to a really nice bronze colour and smells quite nice. I still find I go a bit patchy when it fades though even with lots of scrubbing and moisturising.

Una Brennan Tea Flower Mask £8.99 - This clay mask leaves my skin feeling really clean and soft and like it's actually done something to help my skin. I've had my tube quite a while now so it lasts a long time too.

Boots Seventeen Peep Show Mascara £6.29 - The best mascara I've ever used. It's purse friendly, gives me long and full, fluttery lashes and doesn't flake or irritate my eyes. I reviewed it here alongside another Seventeen mascara.

Topshop Lipstick £8.00 - I have three Topshop lipsticks and I really like them. They come in lovely colours and don't feel drying or show up any dry bits on my lips. They smell quite nice too!

Topshop Cream Blush £6 - I have two cream blushers and a powder blush from Topshop but it's the cream ones I like best. They apply so well, last a decent amount of time and come in lovely colours.

So that concludes my round-up of budget beauty favourites, don't forgot to check out the first post here and let me know you're budget products!

    Happy List #93

    Hi!
As I've done lots of photo diaries and things over the past few weeks there's no new ones to include in a Happy List which is why I've kind of been putting off doing one of these posts for a bit. So instead I've just got a few pics that summarise the past few weeks and I'll leave links to the posts they go with incase you missed them the first time around and use this Happy List to have a good catch up with you all!

Josh and our niece (this post) / Pretty butterfly (this post) / Outfit from a night out (this post on my other blog) / Temple Newsam (this post)

So in the last few weeks I've been enjoying quite a few Sunday's out with my family, Sunday is the only day we're all together really as my Dad and stepmum mum work the rest of the week and I'm at Josh's a lot during the week so it's always nice to spend that time together. We took my niece to the Tropical Butterfly House and she loved the animals but she actually fell asleep in the butterfly house. Then last week we went out with my niece and stepsister to Temple Newsam and then out for tea which was really nice as it's rare we're all together like that and any time I get to see my niece is a good time! I just love her to bits!

Is it wrong to say that Christmas thoughts have already started to enter my head?! I know it's over three month's away yet but I like to be organised so yes I will admit I have already begun to think about what I'll be buying people this year and it's all just so exciting.

I'm also quite enjoying the weather turning a little cooler now and I can't wait for thick, snuggly jumpers, boots and those super cosy Primark tights to come back out! I'm sure the novelty of cold weather will wear off around January time but for now I'm very excited for autumn and winter.

So that's about it for now. I'd love to hear what's made you happy recently. Let me know in the comments.

Lauren's Lists: Things I will miss about summer

    Hi!
I've decided to start a new feature here on Bits and Bobs 'Lauren's Lists'. I love a good list so after taking inspiration from different websites and the Moorea Seal blog if got a whole host of list topics to write about occasionally in this new feature. It'd also be great if some of you got involved too, so please feel free to take the topic and write you own list and leave the link in the comments. If you have a similar feature please leave that in the comments too!

So the list topic for this first post is: Things I will miss about summer...

    1. Having a tan
    2. Walks in the warm sunshine
    3. Eating my tea outside
    4. Sitting outside with a drink and the fire lit as it gets cooler
    5. Wearing bright pink and coral nail polish
    6. Wearing Levi shorts
    7. Sitting in the sun with a good book
    8. Blossom and flowers
    9. Waking up to blue skies and sunshine and feeling happy that it's going to be a warm day
    10. Not having to cover up in a coat
So that's my list of things I will miss about summer. Let me know in the comments what you're going to miss about summer or create your own list and leave a link!

    DAYS OUT: Temple Newsam

    Hi!
On Sunday my dad, stepmum, stepsister, niece and I went to Temple Newsam for the day mainly to take my niece around the big farm that's there as the house isn't really suitable for holding the interest of a 16 month old. It was a really nice day out and we ended up spending quite a lot of time in the farm!

Although I've been before it was a long time ago so I'd quite like to go and look around the house again one day, because I'm a huge history nerd! But because of the large farm and the play areas it's a nice place to take children too. My niece certainly enjoyed looking at the animals and playing on the slide!

    STYLE: The Big A/W Wishlist

    Hi!
I don't know about anyone else but I'm quite looking forwards to wearing my autumnal stuff now and with this in mind I've been doing a lot of window shopping for some new A/W pieces so I thought I'd share my wishlist of items with you.

     1 / 2 / 3 / 4

    5 / 6 / 7 / 8

    1. These jeans would be a nice alternative to skinny jeans
    2. This linen mix, breton stripe top would look great layered up with a chunky cardi or leather jacket
    3. The is a very understated leopard print dress but would go good with thick tights and chunky boots
    4. These fisherman jumpers are such an Ebay bargain and come in lots of colours
    5. This boyfriend coat is out this week and I'm in love with it. I prefer black and grey coats as you can wear bright hats and scarves then!
    6. Another Ebay bargain, I love the print on this jumper. It's so cute
    7. It wouldn't be an A/W wishlist without a pair of boots and these tan studded ones would be great for adding something a bit different to an outfit
    8. Finally how could a resist this tiger stripe pom pom hat, I think I'll be keeping an eye for this in store

DAYS OUT: Wentworth Woodhouse and Car Rally

    Hi!
On Sunday I went to a vintage fair and car rally at Wentworth Woodhouse which isn't too far from where I live. The house is a huge country house and grounds that has been closed to the public for a long time as it need a lot of repairs doing to it. You normally can't get too close to the house but the whole event was held right infront of it so it was nice to get to see it close up. It has also recently opened up for tours though I'm not sure what state the inside is actually in. The house was owned by the Fitzwilliam family until 1979 after they had used the surrounding villages for coal mining profits. History nerd time over and back onto the car rally... I actually quite enjoy looking around old cars especially when Mini's and VW Camper Vans are involved as I'd look either (or both!) of those. The vintage fair part was a little bit of a let down as there wasn't much vintage stuff there however I did get a cupcake and sample lots of different cheeses for free so it wasn't all bad.
I didn't take too many photo's on the day but I thought I would share a few with you.
